Preseason Update

We started our preseason campaign on the 10th January with over 60 players attending our first session, which was a fantastic start to the 2012 season. The pleasing thing was the amount of new faces we’ve had down. It’s also great to see all the past players back as well and from what I’ve seen so far, I see no reason why the Eels can’t taste success this year.

Both Hatchy and Burge have put a challenging but rewarding preseason program together and will have the playing group very fit and ready for the task come round 1. With that in mind we all need to maintain our early commitment and work hard to achieve our season goals.

We’ll be training at Woodlake Reserve for most of our preseason due to the lights not being ready @ Coolamon Oval so players are required to be @ training from 6:15pm for a 6:30 start. Please ensure you bring a water bottle, runners and footy boots with you.

We had our first intra club scratch match last Sunday with close to 50 players attending. We split into 4 even teams and contested a lightning carnival. All up the coaching staff were very happy with the talent on show and we’ll definitely be having a few more Sunday scratch matches over the coming few weeks.
